WebAssembly (WASM) offers incredible portability and isolation, but its true potential shines when integrated with a larger ecosystem. While WASI provides basic low-level access to the host, there's much more we can tap into, especially with data and computational resources. One game-changer is Apache Arrow, known for its lightning-fast analytics capabilities.

In this talk, we'll uncover how the Stateful Dataflow (SDF) engine seamlessly integrates Apache Arrow with the WASM Component Model. We'll dive into various approaches to component bindings, weighing the pros and cons of each method.

But that's not all—I’ll also explore how these techniques can be applied to other resource types, opening up a world of possibilities. With proper integration, WASM can play a central role in converging different data models and computations across robotics, IoT devices and cloud infrastructure.
